Ministry of Trade talkshow "Consumers are empowered to buy domestic products"

In order to welcome National Consumer Day April 20, 2022, the Ministry of Trade through the Ministry of Trade through the Directorate General of Consumer Protection and Orderly Commerce (PKTN) held a talk show on National Consumer Day (Harkonas) 2022 with the theme "Consumers are empowered to buy domestic products" at the office of the Ministry of Trade. on Tuesday 19 April 2022. This activity aims to increase the importance of rights and obligations to consumers.

Regarding consumer rights, the General Chairperson of the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA) Bima Laga explained, currently idEA has followed up and will continue to process complaints that were forwarded to idEA, which in 2021 amounted to 9,393 complaints. According to him, complaints that come through the Directorate General of PTKN to idEA will be directly forwarded to the relevant company and followed up in less than 24 hours. In addition to efforts to accelerate the handling of complaints and the fulfillment of consumer rights, idEA has also created many programs that support the improvement of MSMEs. One of them, since May 14, 2020, idEA has created a Proudly Made in Indonesia program that facilitates MSMEs to be onboard on digital platforms. Going forward, idEA will continue to strive and contribute to the advancement of Indonesia's digital industry while still upholding consumer rights.
